I worked for a tech company in Berlin. Over the close to two years of employment I spenr a total of 7 months in Berlin (as I needed to India for personal reasons). During the short time I spent in Germany, I had a mixed experience. I faced racism, on several occasions - it's subtle but definitely palpable.

Berlin is a lot better in terms of tech. For example, I was able to use my debit card almost everywhere (other than at doner burgers)., order food home etc.

I wouldn't say I enjoyed my time there, it was just home and work. Not much social interaction. I can attest to the difficulty in making friends with Germans. On the other hand, my colleagues from Portugal / Spain were a LOT easier to talk to. We even went out for drinks / dinner several times.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Germany to anyone for work. The taxation is way too high and one hardly gets to save much.
